Beltring Bugle ISSUE 31 Welcome to the July issue of the Beltring Bugle The official newsletter of The KM, IMPS War and Peace Show - July 17th - 21st 2002
THANK YOU We would like to start this last pre Beltring 2002 Bugle with a massive Thank You to IMPS Members for the huge support they have displayed for this years War and Peace Show. As the programme went to print on June 1st we were 337 vehicles up on the same time last year and as we write this we have received a further 412 entries. We are averaging between 20 and 30 entries every day and judging by the amount of entries containing an IMPS membership number your support of War and Peace is growing on a daily basis and for this we in our turn will do our best to deliver you the show of a lifetime.
TROPHIES. It is with great regret that we received a letter from Mr. Jon Burford withdrawing his support of the Audrey Award and The War and Peace Show. After careful consideration it has been decided that the Best Ambulance Award will still be known as The Audrey Award in honour of gallant ladies such as Mrs Audrey Burford and her comrades, who drove ambulances through the heavily bombed cities of Britain during WWII.
MEETING. A full site meeting with safety briefing has been arranged for Wednesday 10th July at The Hop Farm Country Park. Senior club officials along with War and Peace officials and The Hop Farm staff have been invited to attend. Should any club member feel they have constructive input to offer please put your comments in writing to either The War and Peace Office or your club Chairman Mr. Andy Mitchell. Any assistance offered is appreciated.
ENTRIES. By now all exhibitors should have received their entry pack. In this you will find an information brochure. If you turn to the rear pages, you'll find a token for your complimentary programme. If you bring this booklet to booking in on arrival your programme will be issued to you along with your exhibitors plaque. We urge you to read the booklet carefully as it covers the rules and regulations of the site and safety notes. Also enclosed is a breakdown of the evening's entertainment plus information on where and when to eat. Don't forget to tune in to Radio War & Peace on 87.9FM for all the latest day to day information. Dedications can be given to the radio girls at booking in.
INTERNET CAFÉ. For the first time ever on the corner of Kitcheners Bar will be our very first Internet Café. Download your e mails, contact your friends, check out your website, check out our website. www.thewarandpeaceshow.com For the daily uploads. Maybe you'll be there.
MARSHALS. Due to personal reasons Steve James will no longer be with us. He has been replaced as Field Marshal by the one and only Eric Bell. Whose unmistakeable shock of white hair will differentiate him from the rest. Please remember Marshals are volunteers who are only doing their best so be patient with them and always treat them with respect. Because without them the show could not go on.
ENTRIES 2003. The dates for next years show are 16th to 20th July 2003. Entry forms will be available on arrival and we would appreciate your assistance if as many of you as possible could complete these before you leave the showground and return them to booking in. Stall Holders may take advantage of the early booking discount of payment in July 2002£75.00 per pitch, January 2003 £100.00 per pitch and after the 1st February 2003 £125.00 per pitch.
SITE ENTRANCE. All exhibitors, Traders, Campers, Living History and Support Vehicles Etc. must use the Montgomery Gate Access at all times. The main entrance off of the roundabout is for the public only. Therefore please ensure you follow the appropriate signage for show traffic access via Lilly Hoo Farm Entrance.
MILLER NIGHT. Due to the high demand for tickets for this prestigious event it is unlikely that there will be tickets for sale on site during the show. So if you are planning on attending the Saturday night extravaganza contact us urgently for up to date ticket information.
SHOW ACCESS. The earliest date that you may come on site is Monday 8th July, although marking out of the main vehicle areas will not take place until 5.00 pm on the 9th July due to a final grass cutting. If you wish to rope off an area, you must report to Eric Bell with your pegs, rope and sledge hammer and join the teams that are already organised for this mass mark out.
