Along with my brother Rod, collecting WWII Military Vehicles and associated manuals and books from the period May 1944 - May 1945, concentrating on vehicles used in the European theatre of war.

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?

How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity?

In 1986, my brother and I purchased a Jeep for £1500 from a car dealer in Ramsgate as a fun toy for the summer. That same year, he bought a a WWII A26C Douglas Invader and a GMC. In 1987, I joined the IMPS and in 1989 I was asked to join the committee and in this capacity, I became involved with Beltring for the first time. My brother and I continued to collect WWII vehicles, and today we own in excess of 150, from bicycles to tanks, representing Great Britain, the USA, the USSR and Germany.

I attended the IMPS Club Rally in 1987 as a spectator and returned in 1988 with my brother and 3 vehicles, our GMC took Best US Vehicle. In 1989 I was, along with my secretary Barbara, responsible for organising vehicle and stall entries and by 1995, we were running the whole show. In 1996, along with Nigel Hay, we came up with the final title for the show - "War and Peace" and in 1999, along with the Hop Farm Country Park, I took on the financial responsibility for the continuation of the show. and as they say, the rest is history!
