I have previously owned a 1954 Austin K9 Signals Truck with 1954 Sankey 1-ton Trailer. I have traded that in and now own a SUMB Marmon 4x4 Truck, as well as another vehicle, a 1994 Royal Military Police Motorcycle, a Honda ST1100 Pan European. It's in original condition with all the blue lights and siren still working! |

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?
How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity? |
My interest started when I was a tow truck driver by being asked to tow a broken down Stalwart. The vehicle intrigued me and I started attending shows. Whilst at Beltring in 1999, Rex Cadman asked me if I'd help out by driving his low loader for a few days... I stayed until November 2002. I've been coming to the War and Peace Show since 1996. I still wear a variety of hats - helping out in the War and Peace office, roaming the show ground answering all sorts of queries and assisting where ever help is needed. I used to drive the Cadman Brothers low loader. Collecting the many vehicles that can't get to Beltring under their own steam, or are too precious to drive a long distance, it was a long job. I would move into The Hop Farm at the end of June and leave usually by the 1st week in August. In 2001 I travelled 8,500 miles moving exhibits to and from the show. In 2002 the mileage increased to 10,000. Work for the show does not end there. Throughout the year there were the various items that have to be moved to Rex's workshops for repairs or renovation. 2002 was one of the first of the busy years because we started promoting "War and Peace" at a number of other shows during the 6 months prior to Beltring. All in all each year I would have attended about 16 shows before moving into The Hop Farm. This is as well as collecting the additions from all over Europe to the War and Peace Collection. |
