Eric Bell - Field Marshal

Occupation:

E-mail:

Particular Interests:

I run my own business as a self-employed printer (Viking Press), that I have been doing for the last 37 years.
n/a

My other interests lie with re-enactment with `The Garrison` that displays the 25pdr field gun and equipment at venues throughout the UK. My other main hobby is painting and decorating and refurbishment/repair of property be it my own or someone else's.

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?

How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity?

My fascination of `things military` goes back to when I served in the RAF in the early 60's. I have produced the IMPS club magazine "IMPRINT" for the last 19 years, I also edited the newsletter for a number of years too.
My first MV was a 1939 GS Bedford OYD 3 tonner which I still have, but over the years I have accumulated a few more being: 1941 Morris Commercial 8cwt wireless PU, 1944 Bedford MWR aero screen, 1942 K4 3ton Kitchen Wagon, 1939 Morris Ambulance (as used during the Blitz of London) and am told it's the only surviving example working and complete. Also 1942 White Scout Car M3A1, which I have travelled extensively in throughout the UK and Continent on rallies.

Eric has been involved with the War and Peace show since the first IMPS show at The Hop Farm back in 1987. He has printed most of the material for War and Peace including the programme up until 2000 when KM took over that part of the job. Last year he was in charge of judging at the show.
