Barbara Dixon - Booking in office

Particular Interests:

-

I eventually succumbed in 2001 and bought a 1944 Ford Airborne GPW Jeep from a nice man in Wales... So far I have rallied it at last years Beltring and the IMPS tour to Bethune last September.

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?

How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity?

These days, I'm still responsible for all the booking in, and it's a year-round task - I make sure that all the entries are in and all the packs go out, and then I'm at the Showground for nearly a month. I usually move into my caravan about 2 weeks before the show.
From organising the white line painting for the stall pitches to ordering enough exhibitor wristbands and welcoming the endless stream of over 3,000 vehicle owners, traders, modellers, campers and living history entrants into the show ground.  Collating entries with extra passes, and answering all sorts of enquiries from all corners of the globe, makes it a very unusual job. Up at all hours, I have a team of fabulous helpers who share the strain..... If I ever get to relax a bit, I always try to get to The Herb Miller Night.
This year, with a bit of luck, I might even find the time to take a turn in my Jeep around the arena, and maybe have a go at the Jeep See-saw- who knows?!!
See you at the show!
